Professor Goran Strbac
Professor Strbac has expertise in wind power integration with international experience and 15 years’ experience in grid analysis and transmission network planning. He has been actively involved in the enhancement of present transmission and distribution standards in the UK driven by the emergence of new generation technologies including intermittent generation and Distributed Energy Resources. He has expertise in the technical and commercial integration of distributed generation and renewable energy sources into transmission and distribution network operation and planning. His particular interest and expertise is also in the new power system economics and regulatory frameworks as well as issues and tools required to manage electricity industry restructuring and deregulation.
A Professor of Electrical Energy Systems, at Imperial College London, he is the Director of the DTI Centre for Distributed Generation and Sustainable Electrical Energy, the Convener of CIGRE International Working Group on Economics of Integration of Distributed Generation and a member of the Executive Team of the IEE Professional Network on Power Trading and Control. He is a co-author of 3 books and has published more than 100 scientific papers.
