Jan De Decker
Jan De Decker is a project manager and power system and markets’ expert at 3E. He is specialised in grid integration of renewable energy and virtual power plants and also designs 3E tools for strategic energy portfolio analysis and optimisation, as consultant to large industrial clients. Jan has been active in the field of offshore transmission since 2007. Author of the “North Sea Electricity Grid Revolution” study for Greenpeace, he also managed the successful IEE project OffshoreGrid and has provided technical guidance to the Belgian government and the North Sea in the North Seas Countries Offshore Grid Initiative (NCOGI’s) in the development and implementation of the Pentateral Energy Forum and NSCOGI’s founding agreements.
Jan De Decker graduated as a Mechanical/Electrotechnical engineer with specialisation in energy technologies from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). He is the author of more than 15 scientific publications and has presented papers at more than 25 international conferences and workshops since starting at 3E in 2007.
